Don’t just take our word for it!

“I have often witnessed the power of lived experience. That instant connection with peers because they know, in some respect, you have walked their walk. You have been there, done that, worn the t-shirt. However, more importantly from an addiction point of view, you have got clean and are now fully integrated into society. You work (have a business), and you support others by giving something back. Your mere presence in a custodial setting engenders hope in others.”

Louise

“There are no preambles with the content of the course. F2C reached to the core of all attendees’ concerns or problems within session one, without even alluding to substance misuse or addiction. The four attendees’ uppermost fears, anxieties, and behavioural concerns (aggression) were laid bare for all the group from session 1 through to session 6. There was nothing passive about this pilot scheme; the instant connection and bonding in a safe space encouraged all participants to explore their darkest fears.”

Jaspal

“It gave people the tools to confront these fears and start their own personal recovery journey. Most importantly, it provided light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Keep on the pathway you currently travel, and you will be constantly in and out of prison. Confront and deal with your demons, and you too can alter.”

Richard

“I can say categorically that the work of Foundation 2 Change is the way forward if you really want to embrace positive change for prisoners. Not to mention a truly rehabilitative culture for those to start and maintain their individual recovery journey. Initially within the prison setting then maintained within the community.”

David

“Confront and deal with your demons, and you too can alter direction and give something back. You can be that person with lived experience standing here in a group room, challenging perceptions and encouraging others to move forward. Your past or being in prison does not define who you are. In fact, making the most of your time here will define who you are rather than the alternative option.”

Hannah

“For more than sixteen years, I have worked in this environment and changed things (so I have been told) for the better. There is still much to do, however, but in that time, I have never witnessed any group work so powerfully as the F2C sessions. This is not to demean any previous engagements as some outstanding work has been facilitated here by a range of services. However, this programme resonated with the people engaged in it and its overall impact will be long lived. Even when the programme could not be delivered (due to COVID), there was a buzz from the guys on the wing about the course.”
