There’s something special about getting out into the fresh air, slowing down, and sharing an experience with people who understand your journey. This summer, our community enjoyed exactly that – a day out on the water aboard a traditional narrowboat, gliding along Birmingham’s leafy canals.
Getting outdoors and into nature sits right at the heart of what we do at Foundation 2 Change. Alongside our structured support, we create opportunities for people in recovery to take part in outdoor activities in safe, supportive and welcoming environments – the kind of shared moments that build friendship, confidence and connection.
From steering the boat to soaking up the sunshine and the green surroundings, it was a day full of smiles and good company. Days like these are a reminder of what recovery makes possible: peace, community and the simple joy of a day well spent together.
A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such a memorable trip. Here’s to many more.
